Do People Still Read Print Magazines?

By |2023-07-19T14:26:46-05:00July 19th, 2023|Magazine News|

In today’s digital age, where everything is available online, it’s easy to assume that print magazines have gone the way of the dinosaurs. But the reality is far from it. Despite the rise of e-books, online blogs, and digital magazines, print magazines still have a loyal following. This blog will explore why print magazines are still popular and why you should consider subscribing to one.

The Appeal of Print Magazines

As much as we love reading the latest news and articles on our smartphones, laptops, and tablets, there’s something we can’t deny about print magazines. It’s an excellent feeling to hold a magazine, flip through its pages, and feel the paper in your hands. Print magazines provide a tactile experience that digital media simply cannot replicate.

Moreover, print magazines offer a break from the constant deluge of screens and notifications that permeate our lives. They allow us to step back, relax, and disconnect from our screens and social media. Print magazines allow us to slow down and enjoy reading without any distractions. Whether thumbing through a fashion magazine or a cooking journal, print magazines can transport you to a world without screens or the constant need to check notifications.

Magazines Provide Quality Content

Print magazines offer something different in the world of instant gratification and short attention spans. Today’s print magazines feature long-form articles, in-depth interviews, and well-researched features that provide readers with insightful and engaging content. Unlike the quick, bite-sized content found on social media or blogs, print magazines offer quality content that is informative, educational, and entertaining.

Additionally, print magazines are known for their signature photography and visually stunning layouts. Magazines are a canvas of sorts for photographers and graphic designers whose work fills the pages of these magazines. While digital magazines and online blogs can also feature great photography, there’s something about the quality of print that elevates it to another level.

Print Magazines are a Luxury Item

Print magazines are still a luxury item in an age where most content is available for free. Subscribing to a magazine is a treat for oneself, a small indulgence in an otherwise hectic life. When you subscribe to a magazine, it arrives at your doorstep like clockwork, and the excitement of holding a magazine in your hands never gets old. There is an undeniable sense of satisfaction in treating oneself to something a little bit luxurious.

Moreover, print magazines are often viewed as a status symbol, especially in certain industries. The type of magazine a person subscribes to says a lot about them, their interests, and their career direction. This is why magazines tailored to industries like fashion, design, and architecture are often viewed as status symbols.

Magazines are Collectible

Finally, we must remember the inherent collectability of print magazines. Unlike digital editions, print magazines can be collected and displayed on bookshelves, coffee tables, and other locations within the home. The covers of magazines are often iconic, featuring some of the world’s most recognizable faces and themes. By collecting print magazines, readers can create a snapshot of a particular time or era.

Moreover, even magazines solely devoted to the visual aspect of design, illustration, and photography are sought after by collectors and appreciators of beautiful art. From highly stylized artwork to the meticulous layout of a magazine, there is always something to appreciate and value within the pages of these print magazines.

Print Magazines Aren’t Going Anywhere

Given the reasons outlined above, there is no doubt that print magazines are here to stay. They provide an escape from the digital world and an opportunity to enjoy quality content at our own leisure. Although digital media is rapidly gaining momentum, print magazines are still relevant, and new magazines continue to be introduced, catering to a diverse range of interests.

Why Do People Prefer Print Magazines?

By |2023-07-06T12:21:16-05:00July 6th, 2023|Magazine News|

Print magazines have been around for decades, providing readers with informative and entertaining content. With the growth of digital media, many people have turned away from print magazines. However, there are still those who prefer print magazines over digital ones. This blog will explore why people prefer print magazines and why they still hold an important place in publishing.

The Tactile Experience

One of the main reasons why people prefer print magazines is the tactile experience that comes with it. The feeling of flipping through pages and holding a magazine is a nostalgic experience many people crave. Holding a magazine in your hands and turning the pages is much more satisfying than scrolling through an article on a screen.

Immersive Experience

The design of a print magazine provides a more immersive experience than digital magazines. The high-quality images and the well-designed layouts make every article well-structured and give the reader a sense of artistry. Unlike digital magazines, print magazines provide a sense of organization, guide the reader better, and make the content look more appealing.

No Internet Connection Required

Another advantage of print magazines is that they don’t require an internet connection, unlike digital magazines. This makes print magazines a perfect companion for people who travel, live in a rural area, or have limited access to the internet.

Focused Reading Experience

In today’s digital world, countless distractions can make it hard to concentrate on an article. Print magazines offer a focused reading experience without any notifications popping up, emails, or texts distracting you. You have the magazine and yourself; thus, you can fully immerse yourself in the content.

Collectibles

Print magazines can also be collectibles. Many people like to add magazines to their collections, which creates a sense of achievement and nostalgia.

It’s a treasure hunt for those willing to find rare and limited-edition magazines that signify something special to them. Having a print magazine collection can also become a source of inspiration and motivation for individuals. It can serve as proof of their interests and progress, offering a sense of fulfillment.

Relaxation

Print magazines can be a source of relaxation, which benefits one’s mental health. People like to sit down and leaf through magazines, enjoy the experience of learning something new, or just take their minds off of things. Print magazines provide a therapeutic effect when they have informative and entertaining content.

A Word from Magazine Subscriptions PTP

There are many reasons to love print magazines. If you still prefer the tactile experience of holding a print magazine in your hands, you might want to subscribe to one. Comic Books Comeback

By |2018-05-15T13:50:17-05:00May 15th, 2018|Uncategorized|

Comic books are making a comeback! According to an article conducted in 2016 by The Washington Post, “Retailers purchased 8.5 million copies of the top 300 comics, the highest number since December 1997, when retailers ordered about 9 million comics.”

In recent weeks, with the release of Avengers: Infinity War (the fastest movie to gross $1 billion worldwide), comic book shops are exploding with new customers. You can look at the past several years and see a steady stream of popular box office hits such as Black Panther,
Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Dark Knight, and more. These movies have inspired the older generations to revisit their childhood comic favorites, and younger generations to explore the unknown world of comics. There has always been a steady stream of avid comic fans but in recent years more and more people have joined the adventure.

At Magazine Subscriptions PTP we have seen an increase in comic magazine orders among our schools and public libraries over the past several years. Librarians are recognizing the growing popularity of comics among their students, and to keep young minds engaged in reading, orders have been piling in for comic magazines!

You may have seen this trend at your school, business or public institution and are wondering, where do I start? We have compiled a list of our top 10 comic magazines and a brief description for each one. Browse below and let us know if we can help tailor a list for you!

1. Looney Tunes – A publication for all ages! Each issue features some of the most beloved characters in America such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig and all the other ACME characters that you grew up loving. Get tuned in with hilarious adventures,
old stories and even new characters!

2. Scooby Doo Where Are You? – Shaggy, Scooby and The Gang head into action in this fast-paced comic. Each issue is packed with mystery puzzles, interesting stories, crafts, and of course your favorite Scooby Doo characters!

3. Marvel Super Heroes – Join Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow, and all the other Avengers as they battle Loki, Ultron, Red Skull, and Hydra in this action-packed magazine. Each issue contains stories and activities, with collectible profiles and posters.

4. Teen Titans Go! – Teen Titans Go! follows the adventures of the young Titans, residing in Jump City, when they are not saving the world while living together as teenagers without adults who intrude. Unlike most of the other superhero series, the situations are comic, crazy and have parodies. It also features greater attachment to the DC Universe at large, with more references to other characters in the Justice League. The series was written to appeal to an all-ages audience including pre-teen children.

5. Star Wars – Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and the rest of the Rebel Alliance as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor.

6. Marvel Spider-Man Playtime – an action-packed comic and activity book for children ages 5-10, featuring kid-friendly Spider-Man comic strip stories, free posters and stickers, giveaways, and more!

7. Justice League – Features a group of fictional superheroes. The seven original members were Superman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Batman, and Wonder Woman. The team roster has rotated throughout the years, consisting of many superheroes from the DC Universe, such as Atom, Black Canary, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Plastic Man, Stargirl, Captain Marvel/Shazam, and Zatanna, among others.

8. Teen Titans – The adventures of the original teenage super heroes – Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Robin and Raven. More action and plot based complex story lines and in depth relationships than Teen Titans Go!

9. Scooby Doo Team Up – this action-packed magazine features the characters everyone loves from Scooby Doo teaming up with some of our favorite superheroes including Batman and Robin!

10. Avengers – Earth’s Mightiest Heroes– Captain America, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man– are living separate lives, not tied to any team– but when a threat from beyond the stars targets our world, fate draws them together once more, alongside Nova, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales a.k.a. Spider-Man!

Get your kids engaged with some of these popular comics! Did you know that some of the comics have great life lessons intertwined into their stories? We will leave you with this quote
from Batman:

“A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a little boy’s shoulder to let him know that the world hadn’t ended.”

A Look Into Our Services & Process

By |2018-03-13T22:10:09-05:00March 13th, 2018|Uncategorized|

Ever wonder how our company operates? From buying a subscription, to getting your magazine in hand, how does it work? Magazine Subscriptions PTP serves three main groups – libraries, businesses and individuals. Each service has its own process and we want to make sure you’re informed on how we operate!

Libraries

We provide magazine subscription solutions to both schools and public libraries across the world. When a new or existing customer contacts us regarding purchasing a subscription, our initial step is to understand what they need. Some customers know exactly what they want, and others may know they need “sports” magazines or “history” magazines, or need certain age appropriate magazines, and we recommend magazines based on their needs. If you have no idea, no worries! We can send you a catalog with all the magazines. Our catalog has descriptions on each magazine, the prices, and the frequency.

Once a customer provides us a list, we create a quote based on the current prices and send it for approval. A Purchase Order (PO) or approval must be given to submit the order. We contact the publishers individually and provide our customer’s subscription information. We take care of all communication with publishers, which allows our customers to focus on their job at hand! Once the order is placed, we will send our customers an invoice.

Our customers can expect their magazine(s) in hand within 4-12 weeks depending on the frequency of each magazine. If our customers ever miss a copy, we have some extra stored at our headquarters, or we can contact the publisher, and we will make sure they receive one!

When a magazine is nearing the end of its subscription, we make sure to send out renewal notices to all our customers months in advance. We will not renew a magazine unless we receive approval from our customers. Please note that each publisher (magazine) may send out their own renewal notice but our customers may ignore those! We handle renewals for all our customers – libraries, businesses, and individuals.

Businesses/Individuals

For businesses and individuals, the process is very similar. The only difference is we do not require a Purchase Order (PO). All we require is our customer’s approval on the magazine(s) and we will process the order. Everything else is the same!

Below is a diagram that summarizes our process for all of our customers.

Our goal is that the process we have in place provides consistency and simplicity to all of our customers. We understand that all of our customers have other things to focus on and it is our job that they have no worries when it comes to their magazine subscriptions.

As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns our friendly and dedicated staff are here to serve you! Contact us by phone at 1-800-733-5470 or by email at info@magazinesptp.com.
